Seaham boxing day charity comp.

Today we have managed to hold our last Comp of the year, The Members Boxing Day Charity Comp. 🥳
The sea had flattened right off from yesterday with a brisk SW wind, but still loads of colour in the water.
The Pier was obviously fishable and most Competitors taking up respective pegs with the wind uncomfortable but on their backs.
A fantastic record turnout for a Boxing Day Comp, with 123 Anglers registering which included four ladies and four juniors.
“Old Hand”
Bob Surtees
Fishing the top of the Pier came with his Flattie/whitey rigs and managed to nail 11 to take the HBag prize of a lovely £300 (you can only catch what’s in front of you )? For a weight of 8.37lb. Well done Bob.
“Scratcher” Jed Charlton Fishing around the steps area of the pier, quickly had something like 6 out within the first half hour and ended up with 10 whiteys in total for 6.69lb taking second and £250.
Eddie Remmer also Fishing top of Pier managed 6 whiteys for 6.31lb taking third prize of £225.
Craig Wallace fished peg 5 and only had one bite but it was from a nice 3.41lb Codling taking the Heaviest fish and 6th Prize give Craig just short of £250.
I think it’s safe for me to say that all of the prize winners came from the Pier, but I await being shot down 🤷‍♂️
I gambled and went to far end of the Blast in search of the Tings, But only had two out. I’ve never been good at Gambling 😥
Ed Remmer and Jed Charlton took the Sealed weight prizes
Bob Surtees took 0/66 prize of £50
S.Stanlick took the ladies prize of £50 for 1 fish at 1.08lb
L.Wilkin took the Junior prize of £50 for 2 fish at 1.66lb Nice to see some members faces who don’t usually enter the Comps.
Well done to all the winners and see you next year for memberships starting from 4th Jan
From all the Committee, have a good New year and Stay Safe
